On the way home from a week at the Christian Youth in Action© (CYIA) teen training camp, the two younger brothers were asleep in the back seat. Their sister, Ruth*, was overjoyed at the boys learning to share the gospel, but amazed at how the other teens had embraced and encouraged them to follow Jesus. She said, “I know their lives will never be the same! I’m going to start saving money now so they can go again next year.”
When Dan* came home from a week at
CYIA training camp, his mother told a friend,
“He left a boy and he came home a man.” Teens
are challenged to become a missionary for Christ.
This June another 100+ teens from around Virginia
will gather for a week of hard work: memorizing key
Bible verses, planning action games, and learning how
to share the message of salvation – to children first, then to peers and adults.
CYIA 2025 will be held June 15-21 at Christchurch School, 49 Seahorse Lane, Christchurch, VA. The boarding school facilities are perfect to feed, house, and provide recreation for the teens.
Using the Wordless Book as a starting point, teens will understand how to keep the gospel message simple and understandable to children ages 4-14. The curriculum is developed by Child Evangelism Fellowship with over 88 years of ministering to children all over the world.
Then in July, our Peninsula Chapter teens will form teams and go to homes, parks, and community centers to lead 5-Day Clubs – think a weeklong mini-VBS. Children love the energy the teens have and listen carefully to hear how much God loves little children!
