About-
CEF of Virginia – Peninsula Chapter
Child Evangelism Fellowship® (CEF®) Virginia Peninsula Chapter is a church-assist organization focused on evangelizing and teaching children ages 4-14. Simply stated, CEF Virginia Peninsula trains ministry teams who volunteer to conduct evangelistic events usually outside the church walls. The Child Evangelism Fellowship of the Virginia Peninsula serves churches and individuals by equipping them to fulfill the great commission. We help them to be an ambassador for Christ, equipping them to reconcile the lost with the message of the gospel.
“And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy
children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house,
and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and
when thou risest up.“Deuteronomy 6:7
CEF Virginia Peninsula serves multiple counties in Virginia’s eastern region. We have several different ministries for children such as the Good News Club® , 5-Day Club® and CYIA™. We host several instructional sessions for each ministry thereby serving the churches with proven children’s ministry training, materials and methods. This in turn allows us to lead the chapter communities in evangelizing children . Please contact us today to find out more.
Our Objectives
- Expand the ministry to reach more kids
- Giving every child the opportunity to hear and respond to the Good News of God’s love through Jesus Christ.
- Partner with area Churches – the Body of Christ working together
- Train and engage teenagers in evangelism to children first, then to peers
- Support and equip the church outreach teams with mentoring and outstanding children’s resources
Child Evangelism Fellowship® was founded in 1937 by Rev. J. Irvin Overholtzer, a man with a God given vision for boys and girls in need of the Savior. His vision continues to live on today.
CEF reaches the children with the Gospel so that “not one of these little ones should perish.” (Matthew 18:14)
CEF is presently involved in over 170 countries, with over 1,400 staff members. Our emphasis overseas is to develop national workers and leaders. CEF is active in every state and province in North America.
“And they brought young children to him, that he
should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought
them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said
unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid
them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you,
Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child,
he shall not enter therein. And he took them up in his arms, put his
hands upon them, and blessed them.”Mark 10:13-16
