A Day to Remember Christmas Party
When is the best time to trust God? Often it’s when something hard happens that no one has any control over.
A Day to Remember is adapted from a true account of a ten-year-old girl named Chathuri (chah tu REE) who survived the tsunami that destroyed her home. Sri Lanka was one of the countries struck by the tsunami resulting from the earthquake in the Indian Ocean on December 26, 2004.
For Sri Lankans, December 26 is remembered as the day of the tsunami, but for Chathuri this is a day to remember for another reason. Though she lost so much on that day, it was also the day that led her to the place where she could learn about Jesus and receive Him as her Savior.
The boys and girls you teach need to know God is there to help them in times of trouble. He’s already provided for their greatest trouble—a way to have their sins forgiven. Pray their lives will be changed for eternity.
