Carol Smith is one of our dear CEF of Peninsula volunteers. Her life has been dedicated to teaching children the love of Jesus – first as a teen teaching 5-Day Clubs in Pennsylvania. God then pointed her to fulltime ministry teaching missionary children in the Philippines and Germany for 25 years. Since retiring in 2015, Carol has been busy here in VA, establishing and teaching in Good News Clubs.
This is a reprint of her article from 2019, just before Covid hit. Hear her heart for children. Then consider that children need the hope that Jesus gives, now more than ever!
“The Love of Christ Constrains Me”
By Carol J. Smith, January 2019
Children do not all know the truth about Creation and God’s plan for His Creation.
Every child needs to know he is God’s unique creation and God has a special plan for him.
The love of God constrains me tell children that God created and has a plan for each one.Children too often experience hopeless, hurting situations that can impact them all their lives.
Every child needs to know he is valued by God, the Healer of broken hearts.
The love of Christ constrains me to be an agent of change – offering His help, healing and hope.Children have not all heard that Christ loves them and paid the price for their sin.
Every child needs to know he is loved by Jesus, who died once for all mankind.
The love of Christ constrains me to show each child that Jesus loves and longs to be his Savior.Children have lost hope and wished they could stop the pain, even wishing for death.1
Every child needs to know Jesus is their rescuer and gives them a special reason for living.
The love of Christ constrains me to Go and Tell the Good News of His loving care.
The Call is Clear.
Jesus loves the children, all the children of the world!
Many children in our own neighborhoods and schools have yet to hear the truth that God loves them. Do you have a heart like Jesus that feels deep compassion for the children of the world? God is calling every one of us to do our part! Do you hear God’s call? Are you ready and willing to say, “Yes, Lord, I am willing to do my part. Show me how I can make a difference in reaching children with your wonderful awesome love.”
Prayer Warriors are needed!
Prayer is the root of all mission work. Your job is not going before visible men, but directly to the heavenlies to call upon our LORD to raise an army of dedicated workers to share His Good News!
That army of workers will include Leaders, Administrators, Teachers, Song Leaders, Shepherds, Counselors, Committee Members, Trainers, Financial Supporters, and Fund Raisers.
Can you respond? The love of God constrains me! I will do my part to win children for Christ!
