Thinking of Christmas So Early?!?
Are you sad like me when you see retailers begin advertising Christmas offerings before the Thanksgiving celebration has even begun? I want to be able to spend the month of November in a season of thanks to our Creator, Loving Father, and Savior.
BUT… I was truly happy to spend this past Saturday, Nov 10th, with 16 adults and teens who are serious about sharing the TRUE MEANING of Christmas with children this year. I came away with an even more grateful heart for God’s perfect plan to send His Son!
Our CEF of Peninsula trainer, Judy Mooers, walked us through this year’s Ultimate Christmas Party (UCP) entitled, “Joy to the World”. Child Evangelism Fellowship has crafted this wonderful party club curriculum with Bible teaching centered around Jesus being the fulfillment of God’s many detailed promises.
Jesus is the one who brings JOY to the entire world – all men, women, boys and girls – just as God promised through the prophet Isaiah over 400 years before His coming! What a mighty King we serve!
Of course, a children’s party should be just that – a PARTY! We previewed the games, songs, memory verse and craft suggestions included in the party kit. Each team left with a desire to get started preparing what will work best for their group of kids and location.
At this UCP training, seven different clubs were represented. Judy asked for a show of hands that revealed:
- 3 teams – will be incorporating their Christmas Party as the end of the year celebration with their existing after-school club.
- 3 teams – are in the start-up phases of establishing a Good News Club in a school near their church.
- 1 team – will begin a Good News Club in a home, inviting neighborhood children to a holiday party club first.
I am grateful for these dedicated people and others who are willing to reach out each week to children in elementary schools here in the VA Peninsula.
I am grateful for YOU supporters who make it possible for CEF of Peninsula staff to provide FREE training to volunteers so they are prepared to GO with the Gospel.
